If you’re an educator, you probably chose this career because you want to help kids succeed.
You live for those “lightbulb moments,” when a skill finally clicks for a student!
But what about when the opposite happens - like when a child struggles with reading?
When a student has a hard time learning to read, this can create stress…and serious consequences.
The student can’t keep up with their peers, and they aren’t able to complete their classwork.
As time passes, they start to lose self-confidence. Sometimes, struggling readers get to a point where they don’t even want to try anymore.
And as you’re seeing them struggle…you end up feeling so guilty and frustrated.
Sometimes you worry about your struggling readers as you’re driving home…cooking dinner…even when you’re trying to fall asleep.
You really wish you could just figure out what would finally make reading click for them.
If you’ve ever felt this way, you are absolutely not alone.
As you may already know, 20-25% of children struggle to learn to read. That’s a LOT of kids.
Yet the unfortunate reality is…
Most educators (even reading specialists!) don’t receive enough in-depth training or support so they can find and address the root causes for kids’ reading struggles.
When you don’t have the knowledge or support you need to “find the why” behind a child’s reading problem, you end up making these two mistakes:

Thinking that a child would make faster progress…if only you had more time to work with them (time limitations can be tough, but time is rarely the biggest factor holding a child back).

Planning reading intervention lessons based upon where student test scores came out “low” …but not addressing the underlying issues that created those test scores in the first place.
These mistakes are absolutely not your fault. Again, most educators simply don’t receive enough in-depth training on treating reading difficulties - even those who have a master’s degree in literacy!
So how do you get to a place where you can make a bigger impact for your struggling readers?
First, you learn how to uncover the root causes of students’ reading problems.
Then you grow your toolkit of solutions, so you have lots of options and resources that help a wide range of students.
And along the way, you collaborate with other educators, whose decades of experience teaching reading help you find the perfect solution for each child.
This is exactly what you get inside…

"My favorite part of the Reading Intervention Collaborative has been the trainings on intervention and how to pinpoint my students' reading strengths and weaknesses so I can figure out exactly what we need to focus on in order to really help my students become successful readers. The videos are comprehensive and easy to follow, and I've been using the assessments and the data analysis to find out what each of my students needs in their individualized lesson instruction. I'm already seeing some wonderful improvement for the students I've been working with! I'm so happy to be a part of the RIC, and I look forward to continue being able to learn more and apply my knowledge to help my students succeed."

"I really enjoyed the first coaching call! I have followed Alison on TpT for a couple of years and have participated in quite a few of her webinars and courses, but I never imagined I would have the opportunity to think out loud, speak one on one, and brainstorm with her! What an honor! Thank you RIC! I also loved listening to the other teachers' questions and hearing Alison's feedback because it made me realize that I have many of the same concerns."
